Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Kia Sedona- Video
Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Thule Hitching Post Pro, here on our 2018 Kia Sedona. Now Hitching Post Pro is a hanging style bike rack capable of holding up to four bikes, each up to 35 pounds. Because it is a hanging style rack, we do wanna avoid carbon frame bikes because that will damage the frame, having it hang by the frame. And with alternative frame bikes and kids' bikes, we do probably want to pick up a bike adapter bar to make sure that it fits and hangs properly from the rack. With those things in mind though, we can check out how it actually holds the bike. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Kia Sedona- Video
Hi, everyone Aiden here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 here on our 2018 Kia Sedona. Now the Sherpa is a platform style bike rack capable of holding up to two bikes each up to 40 pounds. You do have some color options with it. We've got the gray one here today, but you can also get it in black or pearl, so you can kind of color match it to your vehicle if that's your fancy but they're all gonna function the exact same way. It is a wheel mount style bike rack meaning primarily it's holding the bike by the front tire here, meaning zero frame contact, making it good for our carbon frame and alternative frame bikes. more

So going to be a platform-style bike rack, holding the bike in these trays, and primarily by this frame cradle up here with a strap around the frame. Frame contact is gonna mean we want to avoid carbon frame bikes because it can damage the frame, but with the way these cradles do rotate 360 degrees, slide up and down, kids' bikes, alternative frame bikes those should be just fine. Now it does have a 35 pound weight capacity per bike, so just make sure you're staying within those limits. more

CURT Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2018 Kia Sedona- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here at etrailer.com Today, we're taking a look at the Curt Premium here on our 2018 Kia Sedona. Now the Curt Premium is a hanging style bike rack capable of holding up to four bikes. You can get a five bike version, and that'll have a slightly higher weight capacity of 225 as opposed to 180 pounds total. And it'll stick out a bit further, but overall they're gonna function the same. Because it's a hanging style bike rack, it's gonna hold the bike hanging by the frame here. That does mean we want to avoid carbon frame bikes because it can damage the frame. more

Now, the Kuat Sherpa is the more budget-friendly of the Kuat lineup. It is lighter and more affordable than, let's say, the Kuat NV. I would prefer the Sherpa if I just had, you know, a normal bicycle, nothing too heavy, not an e-bike, but just your regular mountain bike or trail bike because of all of the nice features it has at half the weight. more

Hi everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we are looking at the Kuat transfer V2 two bike rack here on our 2017 Kia Sedona. Now, the Kuat transfers one of my favorite bike racks because of how easy it is to mount and dismount your bikes with this goal post design, it has most of the premium features you would expect from a Kuat bike rack, but it is at a more affordable price compared to let's say the Sherpa or the NV. One of the features it has is I can tilt the weight. And what I actually like to do is just put the arms aside, that way I can step all the way towards the inside and step on this lever. more

Also, with the way the hitch is located or where it is located on the Sedona, which is further back in compared to other hitches, this is probably your best bet when it comes to a platform rack that tilts away far enough to access your hatch. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2017 Kia Sedona HR1400Z- Video
Today on our 2017 Kia Sedona, we're going to be doing a test today on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 4 bike platform rack. Part number HR1400Z.Now, off the bat, one of the really cool features about this bike rack, is that it has a two bike addition to it, meaning that, this two bike right here, is added on to the two bike rack on the original stake. To remove it, all you have to do, is pull out this pin and clip right here. Once you do that, you can take off the two bike addition, and that's very useful for if you're trying to conserved on space, maybe you're only taking two bikes out for the day, or anything to that nature.You can also purchase a cargo carrier add on, to add into that slot if you don't want to take four bikes out, plus you have extra cargo to haul. That part number is HR1485. Now our bike has three different points where it's secured. more

When we do that, we are going to gain access into our back hatch area so that we'll have just enough clearance there.Just to note, we do have about 9 inches from the center of our handlebars to the outermost edge, so I would put your handlebars with the least amount of space in between your bike rack and your vehicle, just so you can gain this access into your back hatch area.We've got plenty of room to stand in between our bike rack and our vehicle. more

Pulling down on this lever's going to allow us to tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle with our bikes fully loaded. In this position, we can check our hatch door, we'll see we're going to have just enough clearance here with our bike to open up that door. From the center of our handlebars to the outermost edge, we're going to have about nine inches, so just keep that in mind, you want bikes that are around nine inches on the closest point to your vehicle so you don't have to worry about that making contact with your hatch door. more

We're going to come around here to the back side of the rack, first thing we're going to want to do is pull out this T-pin here and just set that off to the side. Come down to this knob at the bottom and we're just going to undo it until it's completely loose and it just hangs down. more

Today on our 2016 Kia Sedona we're doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex hanging-style 4-bike rack. That part number is TH9029XT. Now a great feature of this is that it does work with 1-1/4" and 2" hitches. We've already got out bike loaded up so we'll go over how that's strapped down and then we'll go over some additional features as well. First thing we see here is that we have two cradles holding our bike down with three straps, two on our frame and then the one down here is our anti-sway strap. That's going to keep a lot of the shake and play out of the bike as you're heading down the road, so you're not going to have it swing and possibly hit your vehicle or damage anything. To release those we're just going to pull down and lift up. more

Today on our 2016 Kia Sedona we're doing a test fit of the Swagman Dispatch Platform Style 2-Bike Rack. That part number is S64684. We already have our bike on the rack. We're first going to show you how we strap that down then we'll go over some features of the rack itself. At both our front and back tire we've got wheel cradles holding that in. We also got a regular ratcheting strap that you'll see on most of your bike racks. It also has a bushing on there to help fit different types of bikes that you have, so if you smaller tires like we do here that'll fit those perfectly, and then if you have larger tires you can easily just flip those over. To release those we're just going to push down and lift up. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Kia Sedona- Video
Today, on our 2016 Kia Sedona, we're doing a test fit of the Kuat Transfer Platform Style 3-Bike Rack. That part number is TS03G. Now, this bike rack is designed to work with 1-1/4 inch and 2-inch hitches, and the first thing I want to show you on this is the tilt-away feature because with our platform style here, we can tilt-away our bike rack with our bike still on there. I'm just going to move these wheel hooks out of the way and hang onto them to be able to tilt the bike rack down. I'll push on this pedal with my foot and tilt that away. Now, with our bike in this position, we can open up our hatch. One thing I do want you to note is that with this bike we do have to move our handle bars out of the way just a little bit before they make contact there, so what I'm going to do is push the bike a bit, and we can clear that hatch there. more

We have 2 cradles holding down the bike, and then 3 straps, 2 on the frame here and then 1 as out anti-sway strap here in the back. It's going to keep that bike from shaking back and forth, or swaying, and possibly damaging your vehicle. To release those we're just going to push down on the gray levers on either side and lift our straps out. more

Today on our 2012 Kia Sedonna we're going to be doing a test fit of the Hollywood Racks Traveler four bike rack. This is going to be your hanging style four bike rack. Part number HR8500. It does come with a 2 inch shank as well as an 1 1/4 shank as well as a 2 inch adapter. So it can work with your class 1,2 and 3 receivers. Just keep in mind that if you do plan on using it with your class 1 receivers that you do make sure that you're weight of your bikes and that you only carry two bikes and that is per your hitches weight specifications. Let's go ahead and move down and talk about the 3/4 inch anti-rattle bolt that's going to keep it nice and secure on the back of the vehicle. Today on our 2012 Kia Sedona, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Hollywood Racks Traveler five bike rack. Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Kia Sedona th9029xt- Video
Today on our 2012 Kia Sedona we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Vertex. This is going to be the hanging style four bike rack, part number TH9029XT. As you can see, we've already got a bike up here on our cradle arms so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully assembled and in place on the back of your vehicle. This bike rack comes with an inch and a quarter shank as well as a two inch adapter securing with a three quarter inch anti rattle bolt. It will be compatible with your class one, two and three receivers but if you do decide to use it with your class one receivers, you're going to need to keep in mind that you're only going to be able to carry up to two bikes and you're going to need to know the weight of those bikes and the weight specifications of your receiver that you intend on using it with. Let's go ahead and start off with getting a few measurements. Our closest distance will be first down here at the bottom side to the backside of the bumper at about two and three quarter inches to this point here. Overall distance that we've added to the back of the vehicle from the back of the bumper to the back of the cradle arms at about thirty three and three quarter inches and our ground clearance will be about ten and three eighths inches. more

SportRack Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Kia Sedona- Video
Today on our 2012 Kia Sedona we're going to be doing a test fit of the SportRack Ridge Swing. This is going to be a your hanging-style four-bike rack with the swing-away option, part number SR2415. As you can see, it does come with a 2" shank for your 2" receivers only, attaching a 3/4" anti-rattle bolt that's going to help to reduce a lot of the sway, rattle, and wobble. We also have our bike on here so you can see what it's going to look like once you have a completely installed and in place on the back of your vehicle. So let's start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest distance down here on the bottom is going to be about 3 3/4" from the backside here to back of the bumper. The overall distance that we've added to the back of the vehicle from the rear of the bumper to the back of the cradle arms at about 31 1/2". more

Today on our 2012 Kia Sedona, we're going to be doing a test fit of the SportRack Ridge 3. This will be your hanging style 3-bike rack, part number SR2403. As you can see, we've already got a bike up here on our platform so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully assembled and in place on the back of your vehicle. Now, note that this rack does come with a 1-1/4-inch shank as well as that 2-inch adapter, and it will work with your class I, II, and III receivers. Thing to keep in mind though, is if you plan on using it with your class I receivers that you're only going to be placing 2 bikes on here and you know the weight, so that you're within your weight specifications of your class I receiver. Swagman Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Kia Sedona- Video
Today on our 2012 Kia Sedona we're going to be doing a test fit of the Swagman Dispatch. This is going to be your platform style two bike rack, Part Number S64864. As you can see, we've already got our bike up here on our platform so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully assembled and in place on the back of your vehicle. This bike does come with a two inch shank for your two inch receivers over and it will be attached using a 7/8th inch anti-rattle bolt with an anti-tamper and theft device. Also with this rack, that there was only stow position and that is going to be lowering that center mass which we'll show you in a moment, but that there is no stowed, tucked away position. Let's go ahead and start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest distance is going to be about seven and 1/8th inches. more

Kuat NV Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Kia Sedona- Video
Today on our 2012 Kia Sedona, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Kuat NV, platform-style four-bike rack, part number N105-107. As you can see we've already got a bike up here on our platform so you can see what it's going to look like once you have it fully assembled and ready to hit the road. This bike rack does come with a two-inch shank to fit into your two-inch receivers only. It also comes with a pin and a lock and anti-theft device. So let's go ahead and start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest distance is going to be about 5-5/8 inches. Overall distance that we've added to the back of the vehicle, from the rear of the bumper to the back of the rack is going to be about 45-3/4 inches. And our ground clearance here at the back side is going to be about 21-1/2 inches. All right, this rack does have a tilt option, and it's more intended for your larger stature SUVs and pickup trucks, being that when you place this into the tilt position, it's going to rest on the ground. Now you can still use it with this because it does have the two-inch shank for your two-inch receivers. When we open up that rear hatch, it won't allow you to open it up all the way just because of how it's designed and how the vehicle's designed with the large hatch on the back side. more
